Buckhead Apartments and Real Estate

Finding a great apartment in Buckhead is easier than you think.

Courtesy of Zillow Paces 325, are luxurious high-rise condominiums in the ultra hip Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta.

Think you can’t afford to live amongst the rich and fabulous in Buckhead? Well, think again. When it comes to Buckhead real estate, there are endless options appropriate for any budget, especially for apartment dwellers. Buckhead apartment rents start as low as $1,000 for a one bedroom and go upwards of $5,000 for a deluxe three-bedroom apartment dripping with amenities. There are condos and townhomes out there for rent as well as private houses.

When it comes to a Buckhead apartment search, where and how does one start? Plowing through the listings can get overwhelming and you never know what you’re going to get on Craigslist, Zillow and Trulia -- though great starting points for your Buckhead apartment search. Our recommendation is making a list of your wants and needs, clicking and hitting the pavement.

Of course Buckhead has its share of dependable apartment “chains” like stalwart Post Properties that boasts nine Buckhead apartment communities: Post Alexander, Post Brookhaven, Post Chastain, Post Collier Hills, Post Gardens, Post Glen, Post Lindbergh, Post Peachtree Hills and Post Stratford. Out of that batch, you’re sure to find a home suitable to both your budget and housing needs. AMLI, also in the chain gang, has one Buckhead property, AMLI Lindbergh and is set to open two more properties in the area.

We have found, however, that it’s families whose needs are often overlooked. And a lot of singletons don’t want to share their pool with toddlers. We looked outside the box and found two great Buckhead rental options with your neighbors being in some of Buckhead’s most grand mansions and priciest million-dollar real estate.

The Rocca at Piazza at Paces is a great option for families looking to land in one of the country’s best school districts. The mid-rise Rocca places you smack dab in the neighborhood of Morris Brandon Elementary, Sutton Middle School and the $147 million North Atlanta High School. You’re also near some of the best private schools including Westminster, Pace Academy and Atlanta Girl’s School. The resort-style pool is large. They allow pets and high end shopping and restaurants are just around the corner. One bedrooms start at $1,350 and a three-bedroom penthouse is available for upwards of $5,000.

On the other side of town closer to the malls and public transport is The Manor at Buckhead, another great family-friendly Buckhead apartment option. The Manor is a series of stately brick buildings with grand columns closed in by wrought iron gates. It has a jaw-dropping clubhouse with 20-foot high ceilings, a wet bar for entertaining, sitting areas situated around fireplaces and even a cigar room. The pool is a bit on the small side, but the units are stunning with designer painting jobs, marble fireplaces and stainless steel appliances. We love that there is also a rare townhome option. You’ll be in the award-winning Sarah Smith Elementary School district (public) and spitting distance to Atlanta International, Christ The King, Heiskell, and Galloway (all private). Rents are approximately $1,200 -- $3,000.
