The only zoo in the continental United States set in a subtropical
climate, Zoo Miami houses more than 2,000 animals -- some exclusive to
warmer climates. The zoo's newest exhibit, Amazon and Beyond, cost
$50 million to construct and contains jaguars, anacondas, giant river
otters measuring up to six feet long and harpy eagles with talons the
size of grizzly bear claws.
