William Arnold House: Examples of Row House Architecture

One of the most photographed houses in Maine is the William Arnold House, located in Bangor. An Italianate style mansion built in 1858, it is currently home to author Stephen King. King, who is famous for writing horror and suspense novels, has made some modifications to suit his style. As if the pointed tower and embellishments weren't spooky enough, King added a wrought-iron fence decorated with bat and spider-web motifs.
