West Wind: A Modern Masterpiece in Osprey, Fla.
Designed by New York architect Toshiko Mori, this striking residence sits elevated on pilings to ensure the best views possible of the Gulf of Mexico and Little Sarasota Bay.
The home’s ground-level entry staircase is located beneath a central atrium with a partial glass floor above that brings in natural light from the large skylight above. Architect James Carpenter designed a dichroic glass prism which diffuses daylight from clerestory windows into a spectrum of colors that shift with the viewing angle to reflect subtle nuances in the center of the house during daylight, creating a breathtaking and awe-inspiring ambiance.
