Villa Savoye: Examples of Modern Architecture
Located near Paris, Villa Savoye, built by Swiss
architect Le Corbusier, is one of the most well-known modernist homes.
This work follows Le Corbusier's "five points," or basic principles for
modern architecture built from reinforced concrete. First, the home is
elevated by columns to keep it off the damp ground. Adhering to Le
Corbusier's other tenets, the home also features a flat rooftop terrace,
horizontal windows, a freely designed facade and an open interior
