Tour the Tin Box: Sustainable Construction in Miami
Architects David Rifkind and Holly Zickler envisioned their home as a laboratory for socially and ecologically sustainable construction and planning in South Florida.
Tin Box Exterior
The “Tin Box” sits at the intersection of two streets,
opposite a one-acre park and opens out toward the corner with a porch. The steel frame and panels represent a
significant improvement in building durability, according to Architect David
Rifkind, as they eliminate the need for termite control, repainting,
re-roofing and mold remediation.
