Microsoft founder Bill Gates decided to buy a home in Palm Beach County, after renting homes in Wellington for a total $1.1 million for two winter seasons. He paid $8.7 million in cash for the five acre home, complete with horse barns and show jumping training grounds.
The Gates will be neighbors to other billionaires, as wealthy horse-enthusiasts from the U.S. and South America rush to buy properties in the Palm Beach enclave, according to the Real Deal.
