The Philip Johnson Glass House in New Canaan, Conn., was designed in 1949 by architect Philip Johnson as his own residence and is known for its innovative use of glass. The interior space is divided by low walnut cabinets; a brick cylinder contains the bathroom and is the only object in the home to reach floor to ceiling.
