The Dakota: Examples of Pre-War Architecture

Right around the corner from The San Remo is The Dakota, another pre-war apartment building in New York City's Central Park West. It was built between 1880 and 1884 by the firm that also designed the Plaza Hotel. The building is adorned with high gables, deep roofs, terra-cotta spandrels and panels, and balconies that give it a very classic, vintage feel.
