Terror Behind the Walls: Philadelphia

With its rusted bars, crumbling cellblocks and decaying furniture, this abandoned prison in Philadelphia is the perfect backdrop for scares. Terror Behind the Walls, an annual Halloween attraction at Philly's Eastern State Penitentiary, features creepy animatronic creatures, Hollywood-quality sets and a cast of more than 200 actors – but the star of the show is the prison itself. Opened in 1829, the imposing structure housed notorious criminals such as Al Capone and Willie Sutton. Today, many believe the prison is haunted by former inmates and officers.
