Trends in home theaters include modular seating and hidden controls.
Elissa Morgante of Morgante-Wilson architects brought glamour, comfort and a 7' x 14' movie screen suitable for a tribute of Lawrence of Arabia. Lighting is critical, says Morgante, and that includes the glare level when someone enters and leaves a room. They solved this by adding a small anteroom as an entrance. The theater is fitted with electronic curtains and dimmers, but what about those monkey sconces? The owner found them in New Orleans ("I've got to have them!”), brought them back and said, "Okay ladies, where do we put these?"
