Rosegate

Rosegate

Home to author Anne Rice from 1989 to 2004, this Garden District residence was the inspiration for Mayfair Manor, the setting Rice's 1990 novel The Witching Hour. Many of the Greek Revival-style home's features play a significant role in the novel, including the swimming pool and the side porch with ornate cast iron decorations.
