New Orleans, Louisiana Old New Orleans Rum Distillery

What began on the backstreets of the 9th Ward as Celebration Distillery -- the brainchild of local artist James Michalopoulos -- has turned into one of the most successful rum businesses and popular attractions in New Orleans. In 1995, Celebration Distillery moved to an old warehouse off Frenchman Street. After a few years experimenting, business began to take off in 1999 when the company's first white rum -- now known as New Orleans Crystal -- was distributed. Today, tours and special events are held weekly at the warehouse, where the distillery has continuously been a popular choice for patrons to taste a little local flavor.
