This "custom-made" mobile hanging over the crib was part of an episode
where Seeley's son from a previous marriage comes to visit and meet his
new baby sister.
"The mobile plays on
the idea of a solar system of a family handmade by a child," Megan
says. "As long as the baby in the crib can't grab it, I think it's a
neat design element. Having mobiles over the changing table is a good
way to distract babies, too. Decorations that are handmade and
rustic-looking is a big trend now, away from mass-produced and
She says handmade mobiles should be made of soft
materials. "You could buy a piece of wood, and wind it up with wool,
then hang separate pieces from it," she suggests. "The pieces could be
geometric shapes or figures made out of wool or yarn. When things are
made with love, that's what really makes your house a home."
