Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation Ramble, Rose Lawn

Located in Cartersville, this historic house is the former home of noted evangelist Samuel Porter Jones, for whom the Union Gospel Tabernacle (Ryman Auditorium) in Nashville was built -- which became the Grand Ole Opry. Rev. Jones coined the well-known phrase “The road to hell is paved with good intentions." Known as Rose Lawn, the home was a favorite stop on this year's Ramble.
