Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation Ramble, Etowah Indian Mounds

A stop on this year's Ramble, the Etowah Mounds in Cartersville are the most intact Mississippian Culture site in the Southeast. Only 9% has been excavated. The earliest evidence of human occupation of the area is the Paleo-Indian Period (10,000 BC).
