Frank W. Thomas House: Examples of Prairie Architecture
Built in 1901, the Frank W. Thomas House in Oak Park, Ill., is
considered Frank Lloyd Wright's first Prairie house. It's also the first
of his houses to have its main rooms raised a full story above grade over
a high basement, and his first all-stucco house in Oak Park. Some of
the home's most distinctive features include leaded glass windows, an
arched entryway and an L-shaped floor plan.
