When architect Ulrich Franzen designed a new house for
Horseshoe Hill estate in Old Westbury, N.Y., he incorporated the original house’s
grand salon and drawing room. The drawing room features museum-quality
restoration of the antique Jacobean wood paneling and pilasters, intricately
molded plaster ceilings, antique parquet floors, restored leaded-glass
windowpanes and an antique fireplace. Imagine the stories this room could tell
of soirees thrown during the Gatsby Gold Coast 1930s era.
