Chicago Spotlight: Al Capone
Notorious for its mob activity, Chicago was also home
to Al Capone (aka "ScarFace"). Capone led a Prohibition-era mob known
as the "Capones," which was dedicated to smuggling and bootlegging liquor, along with other illegal activities,
such as prostitution. Capone purchased this two-flat house, at 7244 South
Prairie Avenue in the south side, in 1923 for $5,500.
