Chicago Spotlight: The Playboy Mansion
While the stereotypical, flashy
Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles is chock-full of naked women, the original Hugh
Hefner home was much classier. Built in 1899, Hugh bought the Chicago estate in
1959. In the 60s and 70s, this Gold Coast real estate was the place to
be. When Hugh later donated the property to the Art Institute of Chicago, the
building was converted into seven single-family residences. With 7,874 square
feet, four bedrooms and five bathrooms, one of the condos in the classic
Playboy Mansion is for sale for $6.7 million.
