Ca d'Zan: Examples of Mediterranean Architecture

Ca d'Zan, a Mediterranean revival mansion in Sarasota, Fla., shows influences from a wide range of European countries. The variety of materials used to build the home lends an ornate appearance typical of the Mediterranean style. The exterior of the home was constructed from terra-cotta blocks, brick and concrete, then coated with stucco and terra cotta and embellished with glazed tile. The original roof was made from 16th-century Spanish tiles.
