Buckingham Fountain: Chicago's Front Door

Chicago's Buckingham Fountain, designed in the Beaux-Arts style, is located in Grant Park and is known as Chicago's front door. The fountain is intended to represent Lake Michigan, surrounded by four sea horses representing Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan. It was modeled after Latona Fountain at the Palace of Versailles in France.
