The Olympic Ice Stadium in Cortina d'Ampezzo was "built by the Viviani Donato and children of Cornuda," according to legend. It was built for the Olympic Winter Games of 1956 and hosted ice skating, hockey and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. They were the first to be broadcast on television.
