Belle Meade Mansion: Examples of Greek Revival Architecture

Known as "Queen of the Tennessee Plantations," Belle Meade Plantation is a 30-acre historic site located near Nashville, Tenn., the centerpiece of which is the Greek Revival-style Belle Meade Mansion. In 1852, William Giles Harding extensively enlarged and remodeled the mansion, adding the veranda and six massive columns made of solid limestone quarried from the property.
