This 19th-century gem in Catskill, N.Y., is impeccable inside and out. The spacious rooms all center around a handsome central staircase — and thanks to the octagonal shape, many of the rooms have small adjoining rooms that make for great offices or walk-in closets. The showstopper is the "Sky Lantern," a third-floor landing with a starry ceiling mural.
