1854: Greek Revival

Located between the cities of Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Greensboro, N.C., lies the historical town of Salisbury. In the heart of the West Square Historic District of Salisbury sits the famed Andrew Murphy House. This Greek Revival home was built in 1854 and has since passed through five generations. As a member of the National Register of Historic Places, the property has been featured on several tours sponsored by the Salisbury Historic Foundation.

Architectural features of this home include 12 original columns supporting two porches, original millwork, crown molding and mantels, 12-foot ceilings on the first floor and 10-foot ceilings on the second floor, and original wooden windows and glass panes. There are also three oversized fireplaces on the main level and a total of six fireplaces throughout the whole home.
