Madonna Cuts Price on Upper West Side Duplex
The Material Girl has slashed more than $3 million off the asking price of her elegant Manhattan apartment.
Update: Madonna has sold her Manhattan apartment for nearly $20 million, according to the The Wall Street Journal. Hedge fund manager Deepak Narula was the buyer.
Do you remember back in November when Madonna put her longtime Upper West Side home on the market for $23.5 million? The sprawling 6,000-square-foot co-op is still on the market, but Madge has slashed the price to $19,995,000.
About the House
- Owned By: Iconic pop star Madonna
- Listed By: Adam Modlin of The Modlin Group
- Price: $19,995,000
The elegant duplex offers four bedroom wings, eight
bathrooms, Juliet balconies facing Central Park and — naturally, given her
profession — a state-of-the-art sound system throughout.
According to a 2007 article in Architectural Digest, the apartment started off as three separate units, the first of which Madonna bought with Sean Penn when they were still married. She scooped up the second and third apartments after the divorce, gutted them, then asked younger brother Christopher G. Ciccone to design the duplex as we currently know it. “I wanted to make a space for her that was elegant without being weak, peaceful without being boring,” Ciccone said.
