Price Slashed on Disney’s Haunted Mansion Replica Near Atlanta

Perhaps the lower price tag won't scare off potential buyers.

We know you’ve seen those kids — the ones being dragged out of Disneyland at closing time, kicking and screaming. One former Atlanta-area resident decided to take the park home with him. Mark Hurt was so enchanted with the Haunted Mansion theme ride that he built his home in its likeness. Even the same foundry was used to produce the distinctive wrought iron on the unique home’s balconies.

The 10,000-square-foot manse is drop-dead gorgeous and located in Duluth, a bedroom community about 30 minutes north of the city. Built in 1996, the home boasts seven bedrooms and six baths, is four stories tall, has a “haunted” bathroom and was originally listed for $873,000. That price tag must’ve scared off potential buyers, as the home remains on the market more than five months later despite a $1.2 million appraisal. Hurt has since moved to Hawaii and recently dropped the asking price to $790,000 and will even entertain lease-to-own contracts.

Because the home is located in a private and gated community, the home may not be used as a bed and breakfast. In an effort to attract a sale, Hurt, a contractor himself, said that he can finish out certain rooms at the buyer’s specifications for a price.

Interested parties should contact Theme Park Connection to schedule a viewing. Only those that pre-qualify will be allowed behind those mysterious walls.
