After a three-week delay and a lot of rumor mongering, on June 28, 2013, New York City-based Concierge Auctions announced the sale of “The Pointe,” an investment property co-owned by University of Alabama Coach Nick Saban.

The firm’s website received thousands of visits from 49 states and 49 international countries including Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Australia and Ireland. A total of 2,821 prospects were identified and eight bidders participated in the sale.

The six-bedroom, nine-bathroom home sold to the highest bidder in cooperation with Julie Barnett of Harry Norman, Realtors Luxury Lake and Mountain, an exclusive affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate. Ed West of Ed West Realty, Inc. represented the buyer.

"This is the highest sale price on the lake in many years, which is exciting to be part of," said West. "I've been familiar with this property from the beginning, throughout its construction. It was developed for a family to use and enjoy and my clients, their children and grandchildren will certainly do so. They are extremely excited to be purchasing their dream home and will be a great addition to the Lake Burton family."

Located at 112 Whipporwill Lane in Clayton, Ga., the Pointe is situated on one of Lake Burton’s most prime lots. Built with natural local stone, reclaimed timber beams and heart pine and Pennsylvania Bluestone flooring, the 9,600-square-foot estate features a custom boathouse with a swimming dock and a Cape Cod-style stone lighthouse, which showcases 270-degree lake and mountain views.
