Miami's Million Dollar Homes are Going, Going, Gone

Houses in Miami worth one million dollars or more are going like hotcakes, donuts, pastelitos and any other savory pastry that you love. Brokers say it's a sellers' market.

Miami home sales are booming and million dollar properties are selling faster than ever. Brokers are reporting that one in every five homes for sale in Miami-Dade County costs more than $1 million. Condos worth more than $1 million account for one in every eight sales. And luxury properties are changing hands fast. Esslinger-Wooten-Maxwell Realtors sold a million-dollar home every 17 hours in 2013. And homes are lasting 30 days less on the market then they did a year ago. “This means there are so many people out there looking for luxury properties that there’s a huge uptick in the luxury market,” EWM broker Valaree Byrne said to Miami Today
