A Luxury House in Los Angeles for Just $150
Special Olympics of Southern California has really outdone itself this year, raffling off not only a $4 million dollar dream house, but a Mercedes, Saab, exotic vacations and diamonds as well.
Every year the Special Olympics of Southern California finds a luxurious dream house to auction off in order to raise funds for their charitable organization that benefits more than 13,000 athletes. But this year the organizing committee has really outdone itself: This Sherman Oaks, south-of-Ventura mansion is valued right around $4 million, and could be yours for the purchase price of one $150 ticket.
Built in 2008 the 7,500-square-foot Spanish Colonial home has six bedrooms, six-and-a-half baths and a four-car garage, not to mention an elevator that will help you access all three floors. Then there’s the wine cellar, gourmet chef’s kitchen, two-story living room, office and full maid’s quarters, plus a guest suite.
It’s also a smart house, wired for just about everything, with its own control room. Out back there’s a grotto-style pool with waterfalls.

There are only 70,000 raffle tickets available, and they say that if all tickets are sold, you have a one in 50 chance of winning at least some prize. While it might not be the dream house, there are 1,399 other prizes to be given away, so you might just have to settle for a Mercedes-Benz SLK 350 Roadster; an Audi Q5; a vacation to Paris, Venice, New Zealand or Australia; or any number of electronic gadgets or diamond jewelry pieces.
Now, if you win the grand prize and it doesn’t suit you to move into a mansion in the San Fernando Valley, you can always opt to pass on the house and pocket $2 million. Either option you choose, however, you’ll be subject to sizeable local, state and federal taxes.
drawing will be held on June 9, 2013, at the Special Olympics Southern
California Summer Games, but no tickets will be sold after May 24. For more
