Extra! Extra! Vampires Take Over Madison, Ga.
The cast of "The Originals," a spinoff of the CW hit "The Vampire Diaries," was not only spotted this weekend, but they're also looking for extras.
It’s no secret that the dead, the undead and even Deadheads walk among the living in Georgia. Fans of The Vampire Diaries will be thrilled to know that the cast of The Originals, a spinoff to the CW hit, was spotted taking over Madison, Ga., this past weekend. Extras were seen sporting Salem witch-trial garb as they followed a horse and buggy along the town’s historic streets.
The Originals revolves around the original vampire family and takes places in New Orleans, for which the historic streets of Madison with its prewar antebellum architecture and Greek Revival mansions are able to provide a backdrop. The 20th episode of the fourth season of The Vampire Diaries was called “The Originals episode” and teased the spinoff. In it Klaus (Joseph Morgan) returns to the French Quarter of New Orleans, where he is reunited with his supernatural partner in crime, Elijah (Daniel Gillies). Charles Michael Davis continues his role as Marcel; Claire Holt (Rebekah) and Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley) cross over to the new series as well.
Town folks got used to Hollywood back in the late '80s and early '90s when Carroll O’Connor was a regular filming his hit show In the Heat of Night. ABC’s October Road was also filmed around Madison.
And if you are ready to bare your fangs for the camera, the series is also looking for extras and specifically a warlock-type character. Check out Tammy Smith Casting’s Facebook page for all the up-to-date information and to keep up with future casting possibilities.
According to The Originals website the series premieres Thursday, Oct. 3, at 9 p.m. ET on The CW. Check your local listings as this may vary.
