What Are Celebrities Thankful for This Holiday Season?

We asked celebrities which features of their homes make the holidays a little more merry – or less stressful. From dishwashers to surround sound systems, here’s what they had to say.

Maria Menounos at California Pizza Kitchen Event

Read on to find out what Maria Menounos and other celebs are most thankful for in their homes.

“I am most thankful for my kitchen," said Maria Menounos, pictured here with the new California Pizza Kitchen oven-ready pizzas. "In my line of work, I’m always on the road, so one of my favorite ways to unwind is to invite friends and family over for dinner. On those nights, I want to prepare something delicious, but it has to be easy so that I can spend time with my loved ones. They are ideal for easy entertaining as they are quick to make and taste great."

"I love the kitchen," said former ice hockey player Wayne Gretzky at the 27th annual American Cinematheque fundraising gala honoring Jerry Bruckheimer. "We spend a lot of time in there, eating and watching hockey games and movies. I really like spending the holidays with the entire family at our house in St. Louis, Missouri. [My wife] keeps a beautiful house and I'm just happy to be there!"

Luc Robitaille, president of the hockey team the Los Angeles Kings, loves the sound system that can be heard throughout his entire house. “My wife loves to play good music, and whenever we have parties, we have a good time listening to the sounds no matter what room we are in. I think it’s so great!” he says.

Terri Nunn

Terri Nunn, lead singer for Berlin, who sang at the Bruckheimer event, loves her dishwasher. “I didn’t have one growing up, so I did the dishes. A dishwasher is the reason to live! I have a Bosch—I would marry that thing! You don’t hear it, so you don’t even know it’s on, and it cleans things really, really well.”

“I love my pool table! I put it together myself, with every screw,” said Angelina Jolie’s dad, actor Jon Voight. “I got it from Big 5 Sporting Goods store, and did it while I was acting in Showtime’s Ray Donovan. I had it on carpets so I wouldn’t ruin the floor. I am really proud of it! And it folds up so I can move it from one room to the other. I just had my grand nieces over from Colorado Springs, and they played with it for three days.”

“I love watching movies in our screening room in our home,” said actor Cuba Gooding Jr. “Pop the movie in, eat a little popcorn, kick back and chill!”

“I love my tea kettle and the way it makes water hot really fast,” said producer and director Jon Turteltaub, who is working with Bruckheimer on National Treasure 3. “My wife is a big tea drinker. And I just put in a very big television and big couch so everyone can sit and watch movies together. Mostly, we sit and watch movies with the kids. I hate the smoke detector though, because it always goes off when there is no smoke!”

"I love my garden. There's nothing more satisfying than being able to walk out and get an artichoke, some limes or some herbs,"  said NBC's The Biggest Loser host, Allison Sweeney. "My kids love helping me by going to the garden and getting ingredients too. It's a great way for them to help me to cook and to be excited for what we're eating."
