Jenny Craig’s $39.5 Million Del Mar Mansion: There should be another word for “exclusive.” With an 80-foot beach front on 3/4 of an acre, the 8,000-square-foot, 5-bedroom, 6.5-bath gated estate does plenty of bragging: two chef's kitchens (there’s one for the outdoor entertainment areas, too), a driveway with room for over 20 cars (for parties, you know), elegant guest (in-law?) quarters, a caretaker house and rooms for the staff, a twinkling swimming pool, Jacuzzi, and a gorgeous patio planted directly on the warm, sandy, Del Mar Beach. Is this an example of fat and happy? Take a look at the Zillow listing.
Since its debut listing this February, the first time in 30 years, that $39.5 million price tag hasn’t shaved a single kilo. Variety
sussed-out Craig as owner of an estate the promotional material screams is "one of the most exclusive properties in San Diego and quite possibly the World!" (Take a look at the gallery to see the sandy beach goodies.)
Built in 1980, the 5-bedroom, 6.5-bath property was purchased in 1986 for $3.25 million, according to public records. The current ask is
a dizzying 1,115 percent price spike for the 8,000-square-foot ocean fronting estate
, or, if you’re doing the math, $4,938 per square foot. Not to be outdone, the Craig mansion is also 2,879 percent
than the median
in its wealthy Del Mar ZIP code, according to Zillow. As comparison, there’s a dreamy 9-bedroom, 6-bath, 10,116-square-foot home on five acres listing for a
neighborly $33.9 million

Grammy-winning diva Mariah Carey, here in "before" and "after" photos, claims she lost 70 pounds on the Jenny Craig system.
A little background for financial nerds: Craig’s dieting empire, which became a super-sized contender in the weight-management space with over 600 locations, began in 1983 in Australia and opened U.S. operations in 1985.
