You’ve probably read all about the multi-million dollar mansions in Malibu, and you might have dreamed of living the luxury life in one of them. We know we have. Now you have the chance to actually experience some of the renowned homes for yourself, and support a great cause in the process. On Saturday, June 7, you’ll be able to cruise the coast in a shuttle with a docent to lead you on an exclusive “Living on the Edge” home tour of some of Broad Beach’s finest homes, to benefit the Venice Family Clinic.

Groups of 25 will visit five homes representing a design spectrum from cottage compounds to extravagant estates. They’ll end up at a reception at a private venue with amazing ocean and mountain views, where they will be treated to wine tastings from nearby Trancas Vineyards, and gourmet hors d’oeuvres. The amazing properties on the agenda include:

The Borman Estate: A Frank Gehry-designed masterpiece on an acre of land with an unprecedented 160 feet of beachfront. The property also features a full tennis court and lap pool.

Broad Beach Road Residence: This Woods + Dangaran-designed home was featured in California Home + Design and on the front page of The Los Angeles Times.

Trancas Canyon Residence: Designed by Kanner Architects with interiors by Ariel Fox, this gem features an unobstructed 180-degree view of the ocean and hillsides.

Trancas Canyon Artist Retreat: Conceived and realized by Busch Design Build Inc., this home on a hill has sweeping views of the mountains and the ocean. The architect, who is also a photographer, has a swoon-worthy art collection with works by Robert Graham as well as photographers like Ansel Adams, Diane Arbus, Paul Strand and Lee Friedlander.

Malibu Beach Cottages: This unique beachfront compound by Sorensen Architects, Inc., features three modern cottage-style retreats that some use for a  summer getaway and others use year-round.

But of course the best things in life aren’t free. Tickets for the event are $175 per person and can be purchased at VeniceFamilyClinic.com. And remember, it’s all for a good cause: the Venice Family Clinic, which provides quality primary health care to people in need. With clinics in Venice, Santa Monica, Inglewood, Mar Vista and Culver City, their professional staff and army of volunteers care for many who could not afford it otherwise. Fundraisers like these keep their doors open.
