See Peggy Olson's 21st-Century Dream Home in NYC
For all you Mad Men fans: A Manhattan firm designed a virtual dream pad in Chelsea for our favorite upwardly mobile woman on television.real-life house hunts for made-up TV characters. One furniture styling company, however, is taking the process to a whole new level.
Gloss NY is a young Manhattan firm that helps clients design their homes by using realistic 3D renderings. To showcase their work, they recently designed a NYC dream pad for Mad Men's Peggy Olson. Using the floor plan of a unit at the 35XV luxury condos in Chelsea, they imagined — using virtual 3D furnishings — what the unit would look like if Peggy lived there. "To honor the final season of Mad Men, Gloss NY put her in a time machine, brought her to modern day New York, and created a little furniture fan fiction," the firm explains on its website.
Purple is a major theme in the home, from the leather-embossed couch and ottoman in the living room to the velvet bed and matching chaise in the bedroom. There's an emphasis on spacious layouts, city views and nooks to rest and relax in after a busy day at the office. Needless to say, it's a major upgrade from the Upper West Side building that Peggy owns on the show (back in the day when the Upper West Side was a walk on the wild side).
