Scarlett Johansson Shops for Homes in New York City

The 'Her' actress has been looking at condos on the Upper East Side and Noho.

Photo by: Zillow Scarlett Johansson reportedly checked out this Upper East Side condo on a recent house-hunting outing. It's on the market for nearly $4.1 million.

Scarlett Johansson is apparently on a real estate shopping spree these days. According to the New York Post, the Her star is on the lookout for a new pad in Manhattan and has been scoping out apartments on both ends of the borough. One place under consideration is a two-bedroom penthouse on the Upper East Side. The 1,700-square-foot condo is modestly sized (for a celebrity, that is) but comes with a killer (and, of course, private) rooftop terrace with its own outdoor fireplace, kitchen and bath. The new-construction condo is filled with light, thanks to lots of floor-to-ceiling windows.

Johansson also reportedly checked out a larger three-bedroom duplex in Noho's famous Silk Building, while accompanied by real estate broker brother Adrian Johansson. The three-bedroom, four-bath duplex is on the market for $3.69 million. If we had to pick, we'd nudge ScarJo toward this home over the Upper East Side pad. This one has a large kitchen and a very cool, dramatic staircase in the living room, with customized cabinets underneath.

This report comes on the heels of news that Johansson recently bought a $2.2 million house in the Hamptons. The 3,500-square-foot shingled cottage in Amagansett has four bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a heated outdoor pool and deeded beach access. The master suite comes with a private balcony and fireplace, and the other three bedrooms all have en suite bathrooms. According to People, Johansson bought the home over a year ago.
