Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick's New York Townhouse
Like Carrie Bradshaw, her iconic character on the HBO series Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica Parker is searching for The One -- though, in Parker's case, "The One" means the perfect place to call home in New York City. After a year of house hunting, the actress and her husband, Tony Award-winning actor Matthew Broderick, paid $19 million for a townhouse in Greenwich Village last March. Just 18 months later, the home is back on the market for the significantly higher asking price of $25 million.

The couple never even moved into this Greek Revival-style residence located just off of Fifth Avenue, though they did make some renovations. The front stoop leads to a beautifully detailed double parlor with 12-foot ceilings, two fireplaces and large windows that flood the space with light. One floor down on the garden level, the sleek Boffi kitchen and adjoining breakfast room offer direct access to secluded alfresco dining areas.
Three bedrooms and two bathrooms can be found on the third floor, while the fourth floor is entirely dedicated to a master suite with a dressing room, a walk-in closet and a garden-view terrace. The home's two additional levels -- a basement and a fifth-floor loft space -- are outfitted with a laundry room, an office and a 40-foot-long family room. The only thing missing? An elevator. Even the most diehard fashionistas would probably have to ditch the five-inch heels in this home.
According to The Daily News, the couple is eyeing a pair of adjacent townhouses in Brooklyn, which they plan to combine into a 7,000-square-foot mansion with a suburban-sized backyard. "They loved the West Village but wanted something more private, laid-back and discreet," says a source familiar with negotiations.
