Revisiting The Doory Awards 2012: Best Home Under $1 Million

The second annual Doory Awards — FrontDoor’s competition to find America’s most outstanding homes for sale — are swiftly approaching. We can’t wait to unveil a new set of incredible properties in 20 diverse categories, but in the meantime, we’re looking back at some of our favorite winners from last year. Today’s pick: a chic adobe hacienda in Tucson, Ariz., which earned the highest number of votes in our “Best Homes Under $1 Million” category.

Nestled in a mesquite bosque overlooking a golf course, the charming residence is infused with many stylish design elements, including polished concrete floors, mesquite cabinets and high ceilings with exposed beams. A thoughtfully designed floor plan creates a great flow for indoor/outdoor entertaining, with many rooms opening to softly lit patios and alfresco dining areas. With all those high-end features, it was hard to believe the home was listed for just $899,000.

Browse more photos of this stylish Southwestern abode below. And don’t forget, voting for this year’s Doory Awards starts on May 1. Come back then to help us find America’s top residences — and enter to win one of five $2,000 cash prizes.
