Peek Inside a Bedroom Designed by Molly Sims
As part of Airbnb’s five-day Hello LA event, model and actress Molly Sims hosted an all-American, Old Hollywood party at The Grove to unveil the pop-up bedroom she created with interior designers Kelly Harris & Paige Appel. Sims’ stylish room is one of five celebrity-curated, temporary rentals that sprung up around Los Angeles for the promotion. Check out other pop-up pods designed by James Franco, Anjelica Huston and Lake Bell.

the event, we got a chance to chat with Sims about her home life and what it was like
to participate in Hello LA. “What was
great was they based it on your personality. They asked
me about 50 questions and you’re thinking, ‘How on earth are we going to get
through this?’ But it was so right on! I love design and creating spaces,” she
Sims particularly enjoyed designing the pod for Airbnb since she appreciates their variety of unique rental options. “That’s what is so appealing about them: You can go to Paris and be in a little castle or the top floor of an apartment. There is something about staying in a home like that that’s really nice. For me, it’s a bit more personable and makes me feel at home. Home is very important to me, especially when you have children.”
What’s Home Life Like When You’re Molly Sims?
Sims has a regular morning routine at her home. “I make my coffee at night, so I turn the machine on. I make a bottle for the baby and either lay back down or I wait for him to get up. Then I feed the dogs and am starving! Today we made French toast.”
Near the bed, there seemed to be enough room to practice yoga. “I like doing sit ups and stretching on the floor in my home. I do Bikram yoga and circuit training – a little Tracy Anderson, a little SoulCycle.”
Weather plays a big role in her mood when the actress gets up in the morning. “Whether it’s light or dark or foggy or cold. I’m from Kentucky so I grew up with seasons. It also depends where I wake up; is it cold when I go outside to get the morning paper? Is it warm? If I’m in my New York home, it’s loud and bustling; there is a certain energy that you feed off of.”
If you were looking inside her refrigerator, you would see that Sims tries to eat very healthy. “We are trying to do more vegetables and implement that whole Kelly Preston thing of meatless Mondays. We did sweet potato rolls with quinoa and pinto beans, and then we had green beans with pesto. I like soups – last night I had cauliflower soup and he had broccoli soup. We try to eat as fresh as possible.”
