Organic Pueblo-Style Home in Scottsdale

Fireplace: Arizona Hillside Pueblo House

Photo by: Zillow This carved fireplace holds court as a standout focal point. The 8,500-square-foot Scottsdale, Ariz., house was designed in the pueblo style by architect Lee Hutchison, and has five bedrooms and nine baths.

There’s something inherently soothing about this Arizona home, isn’t there? Architect Lee Hutchinson built this residence in his signature organic pueblo style, designed “of and from the surrounding landscape.”

Hutchinson based the home’s curving, organic forms on those found in nature, while the material palette draws from the colors and textures of the Southwest, including rustic wood elements, adobe, tile roofs and intricate ceiling details.

We see these principles in action starting outside, where the home practically looks like it’s one with its hillside setting. Inside, smooth, flowing surfaces and warm, earthy tones make each space feel like an extension of the surroundings – only more luxurious. Flip through the photo gallery above to see for yourself.
