Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon List Their Bel Air Estate
You can live in the home where the celeb couple made beautiful music together, if you can afford the $12,995,000 asking price.
When you have a New York City triplex that’s been featured in
Architectural Digest, and an oceanfront compound on Windermere Island in the Bahamas, who needs an 11,750-square-foot mansion in Bel Air? Not Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, apparently, because they’ve put their Los Angeles-area estate on the market for $12,995,000. We’re betting, however, that they won’t be landless in L.A. for long — rumor has it they’re looking to upgrade.

The couple's 11,750-square-foot Hamptons-style home is located in the hills of luxurious Bel Air.
Not that their current spread isn’t sufficiently lavish. The unique “Aspen Room” alone makes it a luxe stand-out. That would be a
rustic family room/entertainment den with a bar, a massive stone fireplace, vaulted beamed ceilings, walls of windows with
views, a massive stone fireplace and room for several hundred guests.
Other unique features include the elaborate nursery for twins Monroe and Moroccan, the huge fitness area and gym with the double-height half-court basketball court, and the Moroccan-style hookah-lounge, based on the location where Cannon reportedly proposed to Carey. The home theater, with fireplace and Roman-style viewing lounges, is also far beyond ordinary.

All in all, the home with the Hamptons-style exterior contains seven
bathrooms and six fireplaces. It sits on about three acres, although a good chunk of that is unusable ravine terrain. But many of the rooms have expansive city, ocean and reservoir views. The couple bought the estate in April 2009 for $6,975,000, and among the improvements they added are a state-of-the-art recording studio and a putting
The gated property is extremely private, as befitting a pop super diva and a successful television star. Within the estate’s walls there is parking for around 20 cars, if none of them are limos. There’s also a large, black-bottom pool, an open-air cabana, and spacious lawns.
Singer-songwriter, actress, record producer and philanthropist Carey has won five Grammys, taking full advantage of her extensive vocal range. She’s also branched out into film, with roles in movies including Glitter, Precious and The Butler. Her husband, comedian, actor, writer, rapper and producer Cannon has written for and starred in several television shows and movies, perhaps most notably Drumline. He has also hosted The Nick Cannon Show and America’s Got Talent from 2009 to 2013, among other series. We’re guessing the celeb couple might be taking a look at the $50 million estate that Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen are vacating. We'll keep you posted.
