Live Like a Rockstar: Dave Navarro’s Hollywood Loft for Sale

The stylized bachelor pad high above the legendary corner of Hollywood and Vine can now be had for under a million.

It may not be large but it certainly is luscious. Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Dave Navarro spared no expense decking out his condo in the Broadway Hollywood building at the legendary corner of Hollywood and Vine. The 1,570 square foot loft has expansive views of Capitol Records, the Hollywood Sign and Los Feliz, and has been designed as the ultimate rockstar bachelor pad.

Navarro bought the unit back in 2007, shortly after his breakup with actress/model/host Carmen Electra. He procured the services of prominent designer Heidi Toll to bring edgy glamor to the place. That would include a custom white vinyl platform bed built into a sleeping nook that can be concealed by drapes (included in the price) and over $50,000 worth of blackout curtains to obscure that glorious view during the day on those occasions when he has been up all night partying and performing.

Other designer touches include an entry with crushed vinyl wall covering, and a contemporary kitchen area with stainless steel appliances and black quartz countertops with a custom Ann Sacks mirrored backsplash. The black tiled, red ceilinged bathroom is also a show stopper. With it’s professionally lit mirror, it’s perfect for applying stage makeup before you leave.

The building itself has a legend to match Navarro’s own. He's also been a guitarist for Jane’s Addiction and the host of Spike TV’s Inkmasters. Now the building, built in 1928, was the home of the Broadway Department Store, and it’s rumored that Howard Hughes once owned an apartment there.

Today, amenities include a luxurious lobby, 24-hour concierge service and valet parking, and a rooftop pool with cabanas and a fireplace. Oh, and there's also a discreet back entry, in case residents wish to elude energetic fans and paparazzi.

And yet for all the glitz, glam and glory of the place, the price has been chopped already. Navarro originally paid $1,040,000 million for the loft, upgraded it, then listed it several weeks ago for $949,000. It’s recently been reduced by $50,000 to $899,000.  At that price, it may (or may not) last much longer.
