Jim Parsons Gets a Big Bang Out of Robert Pattinson's Mansion
Jim Parsons is selling his smaller Los Feliz home now that he's bought the 'Twilight' star's estate in the same neighborhood.
While three-time Emmy winner Jim Parsons is taking a big step up in the real estate market, he won’t be taking a big step out. The Big Bang Theory star has just purchased the elegant mansion of Twilight’s Robert Pattinson for $6.35 million, and listed the more “humble” home he’s been living in for $1.85 million. Both homes are located in the historical yet trendy Los Angeles community of Los Feliz.

The home Pattinson sold to Parsons is a 1922 Spanish Colonial with antique tile and stone work, hand-carved wood and stenciled ceilings that give it a distinct vintage feel. It has three bedrooms and three baths in 4,026 square feet of space and sits on a 1.5-acre hillside lot with a lagoon-style swimming pool, fountains, waterfalls and terraced gardens. Kareem Abdul Jabbar also lived there at one time.
The nearby house where Parsons has been residing for about five years was built in 1942, also sits on a hillside and has a sweeping view. The 2,827-square-foot home has no pool, but it does have mature, water-resistant landscaping, an open floor plan, three fireplaces, three bedrooms and four baths. Parsons bought the home in 2009 for $1.3 million.

If you're doing the math, you'll note that Parsons, should he get his asking price, will make a bigger profit than Pattinson, who bought his home in 2011 for $6.25 million, and is receiving $100,000 more than he paid for it. Meanwhile, Parsons stands to gain more than half a million.
