Heidi Klum’s Los Angeles Estate Hits the Market

The supermodel and mom of four said that she fell in love with the property because it felt like the South of France.

Heidi Klum’s 12,000-square-foot Los Angeles estate is on the market for $25 million. The smart home went through a complete renovation and restoration and boasts secret gardens and enormous walk-in closets, of course.

Heidi Klum is ready to say auf wiedersehen to her palatial Mediterranean-style villa in Brentwood Estates, the home she purchased while married to “Kiss From a Rose” crooner Seal. Set on eight acres off Mandeville Canyon, the estate was in foreclosure and had sat empty for two years when the power couple plunked down over $14 million for it.

“When I first heard about [it], I was a bit skeptical when I was told it had been empty for a long time. As a busy working mother with four young children, I was hoping to find a home that was essentially turnkey,” said Klum. “I knew that homes that are unoccupied for any length of time do not always get the attention they need, and I wasn't looking for a project.”

That all changed when she actually saw the home. Klum said that she no longer felt like she was in Los Angeles, rather the South of France. So, she and Seal rolled up their haute couture sleeves and wrote some checks, spending several million on renovations. Doors and woodwork were restored, windows replaced and a master bath overlooking the Pacific Ocean was added. All appliances were upgraded and custom closets befitting a supermodel were constructed.

The 12,300-square-foot home boasts an infinity-edge pool with spa, a koi pond, a formal rose garden, a playhouse and secret gardens. Imported from Paris, the home’s dining room was a private dining room in a hotel. The ornate wooden bookcase in the library was originally in Napoleon’s French country home.

The grounds that Heidi fell in love with also got a facelift.

“By the time we finished, the house was as incredible as its grounds and views,” she Klum. “Sometimes I sit in the garden, drinking my coffee, looking at the Pacific, and really feel it is a little piece of Heaven.”

Lynn Teschner of The Agency said that Klum is already working on another Los Angeles project home. You can see more information at the home’s web site. If you’ve got $25 million we say, willkommen zu hause!
