The Malibu home that Brooks and Yearwood are selling is a single-story ranch, built in the late '50s, with four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, in about 4,236 square feet.

The home that Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have been using as their Malibu family retreat is not particularly lavish by Hollywood or Nashville standards. It’s a single-story ranch, built in the '50s, with four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and 4,236 square feet of living space. There’s no pool, no massive media room, not even spa or built-in espresso machine. So why is this iconic country couple asking a whopping $7.5 million for the property?

Location, location, location, it seems. The ranch house is situated on about half of an oak-filled acre, and is only a couple hundred steps away from one of Malibu’s best private beaches, known as Paradise Cove. It’s not exactly a home that a power family like the Brooks-Yearwoods would want to call their main residence, but many believe a property that size with that kind of beach access is worth a pretty penny.

Brooks and Yearwood purchased the home for $4.75 million back in 2008, just after it had been extensively remodeled the year before. At that time, a large and luxurious master suite was added, with a fireplace, French doors leading out to the backyard, and a spacious master bath with a free-standing tub and double-head shower.

That’s probably the most note-worthy room in the home, although the sky-lit kitchen with a center island, wine cooler, stainless steel Viking appliances and antiqued, cream-colored colored cabinetry is charming. That's only fitting the star of Yearwood’s Food Network show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen, which won a Daytime Emmy in 2013. The property is listed by Kathrin Nicholson of The Agency, but is not on the MLS.

This is just one of several sales the couple is currently looking to close. They recently announced they've listed their huge estate in Owasso, Okla., now that Brooks’ three daughters are mostly out on their own. The power couple intends to make the Nashville area their home base, although they’ve also listed Yearwood’s luxury home in Brentwood, a posh suburb of Nashville.  As of this writing, they still own 300K+ acre estate in Goodlettsville, just north of Nashville, which features a 5,500-square-foot residence, as well as various other buildings including a giant warehouse.

Brooks, 53, and Yearwood, 46, have five Grammys between them, not to mention numerous other country music awards. They’re planning a major concert tour together starting in September.
