Frank Lloyd Wright's Brandes House for Sale
We've highlighted a few Wright-inspired homes for sale here at Cool Houses Daily, but here's one designed by the famed architect himself. Built in 1952, the Brandes House in Sammamish, Wash., is on the market for $1.39 million.
Location: Sammamish, Wash.
Listed By: Sam Cunningham and Sandy Justen of Realogics Sotheby's International Realty
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the residence was built in Wright's "Usonian" style, characterized by low rooflines, open living spaces and abundant use of natural materials. Set on 3.2 wooded acres, the home's notable features include heated concrete floors, redwood trim and clerestory windows that flood the room with natural light. A hovering horizontal roofline spans over the carport, connecting the main living area to a 400-square-foot shop or office.
The home's asking price includes custom-designed redwood furniture, a copy of the original blueprint, historical documents and letters written between Wright and Ray Brandes, the original owner. Not a bad deal, huh?
