Frank Lloyd Wright-Inspired Home on Kiawah Island

Ahhhh, Kiawah Island. Ever since the location of HGTV Dream Home 2013 was announced, we haven't been able to get enough of this scenic island on the coast of South Carolina. Next to this year's Dream Home, of course, here's one of the coolest homes we've seen on Kiawah yet: a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired residence just steps from the ocean.

Location: Kiawah Island, S.C.
Listed By: Tricia Flanagan of Kiawah Island Real Estate
Price: $8,950,000

With its tiers of flat rooflines, overhanging eaves and horizontal bands of windows, the 6,712-square-foot home is reminiscent of Wright's iconic prairie style. On the inside, the attention to detail and exquisite craftsmanship also mirror the work of the master architect, from the white oak ceiling trim to the striking art-glass windows.

Like many beach houses, the home's floor plan is reversed, with guest bedrooms on the first floor and a great room, kitchen and dining room on the second floor. The ultra-private master suite occupies the entire third story. Throughout the home, floor-the-ceiling windows frame the tranquil Low Country surroundings, while French doors open to tiered decks, a screened porch, a saltwater dipping pool and a boardwalk leading to the ocean.

Browse more photos of this stunning home below, and if you're as smitten with Kiawah as we are, you still have more than a month to enter the HGTV Dream Home 2013 Giveaway twice a day for your chance to win your own coastal cottage on this incredible island.
