Check This Out: A Massive Reading Hammock for Kids
Spanish design studio Playoffice specializes in kid-friendly features for homes.
There are kid's rooms, then there are kid's rooms. Madrid-based design studio Playoffice specializes in outfitting homes with amazing kid-friendly spaces, and we're not just talking cute little murals or built-in bunk beds.
Our favorite design by far is the Reading Net: An elevated net is raised in a library, creating a suspended area for kids (or grown-ups!) to settle in with a book. It's like one giant hammock. Then there's the Blue Gym, an elaborate indoor play space decked out with climbing walls, swings and ladders. We also like the Secret Reading closet, which is touted as a "wardrobe turned into a library." Like something straight out of a Wes Anderson movie, the closet is compartmentalized into bookshelves and enclosed, cozy nooks where kids can curl up with a book.
For kids who love to play house, there's also Lucia's Playhouse — a playhouse so sophisticated it could theoretically have its own floor plan: There's a loft space with its own ladder and picture window. There's a bed underneath the loft area. There's a slide to exit the house. There's even a front porch. It's like micro-unit living for little people.
