Check Out This Phenomenal NYC Penthouse

The 18,000-square-foot duplex, owned by a billionaire, has a beautiful Zen garden and teahouse, 2,000-bottle wine cellar and one of the world's largest private art collections.

If there's one thing we've learned from looking at luxury New York City homes week after week, it's that the bigger the home, the more aesthetically unwieldy it can become. That's what makes this gut-renovated penthouse so impressive. Designed by Eran Chen at ODA Architecture, the 18,000-square-foot home is palatial but thoughtfully designed throughout. Which is quite a feat for a home of that size.

The penthouse, which belongs to an unnamed billionaire, has six bedrooms, 12 baths, a Zen garden with a reflecting pool and 30-foot waterfall, a teahouse, art gallery, 2,000-bottle wine cellar, listening room and recording studio, home theater, game room and cigar room. ODA divided the apartment into two parts, connected through a main spine: The southern wing is the private residence, with bedrooms and bathrooms, while the other wing is for entertaining. In addition to the dazzling amenities, we love the play with texture and color from one room to the next.

ODA put together this video tour of the home. Lust away.
